Welcome to the studio tour... I hope you like shelves!

I work at home, which has its advantages and drawbacks. My studio window looks out above this porch.

Just now its all a-bloom with Spring, but on most days its a brooding grey sky with a chance of rain... this is Seattle after all.

My studio is an upstairs room with two sets of gable end windows and lots of funny angles from the slanting roof.

The cedar cupboard and home made shelves holds finish art, cut paper, and current pieces I'm working on.

The drawers at the bottom hold a history of old pencil sketches... probably the drawings to at least 15 books... all layered in geological order.

Here's my drawing desk... homemade, of course.
First thing you'll notice is this desk is REALLY tall!

The top of the desk is made from a door blank... so its very large and holds a lot... 3 x 6 feet.

You'll notice my light box on the floor, leaning against the wall to the left. The hair dryer is handy for drying paint.

Ivory tower... or padded cell? It changes from day to day.

The drawing desk... very valuable real estate. Not an inch that goes unused. In the center is an angled drawing board.

The paints are acrylics... diluted to a thick cream consistency. I also use watercolor and often use gouche for highlights.

I use artpens, dip pens, technical pens with all kinds of inks... full strength and diluted... brown, blue, black... whatever works.
